LILONGWE—(MaraviPost)-The Crocodiles of Karonga United have entered into a partnership with Superior Agri Consult, in which the organic fertilizer company will sponsor the Player of the Match accolade for the remainder of the season.
Under the agreement, Superior Agri Consult will award the outstanding player in each match K50,000 cash and a miniature trophy, according to the club’s communication.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Superior Agri Consult, a company known for its high-quality fertilizers.
As part of this partnership, Superior Agri Consult will be awarding K50,000 to the Man of the Match in each of our games,” the statement reads in part.
Superior Agri Consult director Japheth Majekete said the sponsorship is a way of giving back to the people of Karonga.
“This partnership is a way to give back to the community and show appreciation for their loyalty,” he said.
The team’s general secretary Ramzy Simwaka praised Superior Agri Consult for the gesture, saying the incentive will motivate players to work harder on the field.
“This will go a long way in motivating our players to succeed and perform at their best,” Simwaka said.
Meanwhile, Robert Luhanga became the first recipient of the award despite his team losing 1-0 to Blue Eagles FC at Nankhaka Stadium on Sunday, October 5. Pius Saka scored the lone goal in the 71st minute.
The partnership represents a boost for Karonga United as they look to strengthen their position in the league with improved player motivation and community support.
