NTCHISI-(MaraviPost)-Accounts Clerk at Madisi Mission Hospital in Dowa has committed suicide over marital problems.
Mponera police publicist Macpatson Msadala has identified the deceased as Joshua Shaba aged 34.
Msadala told The Maravi Post that the incident occurred on Wednesday at Kawerawera Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Chakhaza in Dowa District.
Preliminary findings indicate that Shaba was found dead after hanging himself. A medical report from Madisi Mission Hospital confirmed that he died from suffocation secondary to strangulation.
Msadala said the deceased left a suicide note in the pocket of his trousers, explaining that he decided to end his life due to ongoing domestic challenges.
The tragedy came to light when Shaba’s brother-in-law returned from the market where he had been sent by the deceased to buy foodstuffs only to find him lifeless.
Police have classified the case as suicide, and no foul play is suspected.
Shaba hailed from George Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Mzikubola in Mzimba District.
