The story follows several characters whose seemingly unrelated experiences are eerily similar within their intertwined relationships. They include an old man’s attempt to harm a village’s mystical guardian tree; an office worker obsessed with beauty who tampers with her neighbour’s packages; a mother who strikes deals with ghosts to get her daughter into medical school; a senior police officer insisting on handling a case alone despite his junior’s objections; and a college student seeking social media fame through horror exploration content.

Occult horror that tells a mysterious story born from human desires that are scarier than ghosts.
The Running Man
Directed by Edgar Wright.

Emilia Jones, Glen Powell and Lee Pace.
What’s it about?
A man joins a game show where contestants, allowed to go anywhere in the world, are pursued by “hunters” hired to kill them.
Why watch it?
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the star of the original “The Running Man” (1987), appears on the currency used in the film.
In The Lost Lands
Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

Milla Jovovich, Dave Bautista and Arly Jover.
What’s it about?
A queen sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce, must outwit and outfight man and demon.
Why watch it?
George R.R. Martin intended the original short story “In The Lost Lands” to be the first of a series of stories centred around Gray Alys, which he intended to gather and release as a single volume, like his “Tuf Voyaging”. For various reasons, he never came around to finish any more stories, but if the film adaptation turns out to be a hit, he will write a new short story for a sequel to be based around.

What’s it about?

Now You See Me Now You Don’t

A diamond heist reunites retired Horsemen illusionists with new performers Greenblatt, Smith and Sessa as they target dangerous criminals.
Why watch it?
The film was announced by Lions Gate Entertainment CEO Jon Feltheimer in May 2015, more than a year before Now You See Me 2 (2016) was released in June 2016.
