AY Young and Battery Tour AFRICA

  • We’re on the road to power 1,000 concerts using renewable energy.
  • We’ve done over 960 shows from the streets of my hometown of Kansas City to Times Square in New York City to the villages of Malawi — all FOR IMPACT!
  • And that’s why I’m hyped to be teaming up with Freshwater Project International, because they’re doing what we do — using energy and innovation to power people’s lives.

The Connection — Music x Energy x Water

  • See, Battery Tour runs on solar power. Freshwater runs on solar power too — but instead of speakers, they’re powering life. Madzi Ndi Moyo! Water is Life!
  • We’re talking solar-piped water systems bringing clean water straight into schools, health clinics, and villages across Malawi.
  • No more long walks for water. No more sickness from dirty wells. Just sun + tech + community = transformation.

Real IMPACT!

  • When those solar panels flip the switch, water flows. And that moment — that first drop — it’s like music. It’s freedom!
  • Clean water means girls can stay in school. It means nurses can wash their hands. It means farmers can grow food and families can stay healthy!
  • Freshwater’s out here changing the beat of an entire nation in Malawi— one solar water system at a time!

Global Movement — The Bigger Vision

  • We’re on the Road to 1000 — one thousand clean energy shows across the globe — powered by music, sustainability, and impact.
  • And this partnership with Freshwater? It’s that same rhythm — connecting power to purpose. Because whether it’s a concert or a solar water system, clean energy is how we light up the world!
  • Let’s turn it up for clean water. Let’s turn up for clean energy. Let’s turn it up to POWER UP MALAWI AND POWER UP CHANGE!

Malawi mission officials pay tribute to victims of Limpopo bus tragedy

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a somber display of diplomatic engagement and humanitarian concern, officials from the Malawi Mission in South Africa, led by High Commissioner Stella Ndau, visited the site of the devastating bus accident in Limpopo that claimed the lives of 42 people.

The Malawi delegation was joined by South Africa’s Minister of Transport, Barbara Creecy, and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa, David Hamadziripi, in a show of solidarity and support for the victims and their families.

The bus, which was traveling from the Eastern Cape to Harare, Zimbabwe, carrying both Malawian and Zimbabwean passengers, met its fate on a treacherous stretch of road in Limpopo.

According to eyewitness accounts, the bus lost control on a steep section of the road, rolled several times, and plunged into an embankment, resulting in one of the most horrific road accidents in recent memory.

During their visit, the Malawi Mission officials interacted with four Malawian nationals who were involved in the accident.

One of the nationals was admitted to the hospital, while three had been discharged.

The team took the opportunity to assess the situation and provide support to those affected.

The Malawi Mission report on the accident paints a grim picture of the incident.

According to the report, 42 people lost their lives in the tragic accident, including 18 women, 17 men, and seven children, among them a 10-month-old baby.

Forty-one people sustained serious injuries and were admitted to three separate hospitals in Limpopo, with 11 having since been discharged.

The Mission noted that determining the exact number of casualties by nationality will take some time and will require thorough identification and forensic analysis.

The team, however, assured that they will remain on the ground until all necessary processes are completed, ensuring that the dignity of the deceased is respected and the needs of the survivors are met.

High Commissioner Stella Ndau expressed her condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing the Malawi government’s commitment to supporting those affected by the tragedy.

She also thanked the South African authorities for their prompt response to the accident and their assistance to the survivors.

The visit by the Malawi Mission officials to the accident site was a demonstration of the government’s commitment to its citizens, even those living abroad.

It also highlights the importance of cooperation between nations in times of crisis.

As the process of identifying the victims and repatriating the deceased begins, the Malawi government has assured that it will do everything possible to support the families of those affected.

The accident has sent shockwaves across Southern Africa, with many leaders and citizens expressing their condolences to the families of the victims.

As the investigation into the cause of the accident continues, many are calling for improved road safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.

EthCo boosts ladies golf with MK18 million sponsorship

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Ethanol Company Limited (EthCo) has stepped up its support for the development of women’s golf in Malawi with an increased sponsorship package of K18 million for the EthCo Inter-club ladies golf tournament, up from K15 million last year.

The announcement was made ahead of this year’s EthCo Interclub Golf Challenge (Crocodile Team Challenge) and Malawi Ladies Closed Tournament, set for October 18 to 19, at the Blantyre Sports Club.

Speaking during the sponsorship announcement, EthCo Chief Executive Officer Lusubilo Chakaniza, said the company’s continued support reflects its dedication to empowering women through sports.

“This year’s sponsorship has increased to K18 million, up from K15 million last year. This reflects EthCo’s continued commitment to supporting the growth of women’s golf in Malawi and strengthening our partnership with the Ladies Golf Union of Malawi (LGUM),” said Chakaniza.

She further highlighted that the company is also using the event to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness month, aligning with EthCo’s broader commitment to women’s health and empowerment.

“Since this is a ladies’ tournament, EthCo has decided to also use the event as an opportunity to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We believe this platform provides the perfect occasion to celebrate women’s strength both on and off the course. So, as we recognise the top golfers, we will also be commemorating this important cause,” said Chakaniza.

In her remarks, LGUM President Ulemu Luhanga expressed gratitude to EthCo for its continued partnership, describing the sponsorship as a testament to the company’s belief in the potential of women golfers.

Luhanga revealed that this year’s tournament has attracted a record 70 registered lady golfers from across the country, signalling the growing popularity of the sport.

“It is that time of the year again when we invite all lady golfers in Malawi to battle it out in a two-in-one tournament — the EthCo Interclub Golf Challenge (Crocodile Team Challenge) and the Malawi Ladies Closed (individual tournament),” said Luhanga.

She explained that the tournament will feature several divisions based on handicaps, including Champ (0–18), A Division (19–24), B Division (25–30), Seniors (50 years and above), and Juniors (below 18 years). Participating golf clubs include Blantyre, Limbe, Kasasa, Dwangwa, and Lilongwe.

Luhanga also acknowledged Nchalo Ladies, the defending champions who won the Crocodile Floating Trophy last year from Blantyre Sports Club Ladies at Lilongwe Golf Club.

“Our sponsor EthCo has done it again by sponsoring us with a thrilling K18 million package for this great mother tournament for the ladies. We are very grateful and do appreciate their gesture, and we pray for greater success for this amazing company led by our own lady golfer, Lusubilo Chakaniza,” said Luhanga.

Emilie Kiser Slams Criticism Over How She’s Grieving Death of Son Trigg

Emilie Kiser is defending her choice not to publicly discuss the death of her 3-year-old son, Trigg, earlier this year.

The influencer, 26, shared her feelings via TikTok on Monday, October 13, talking in-depth about losing Trigg for the first time since he drowned in May.

Kiser told her followers that “unless you have lost someone and gone through grief, you will not understand what you would do or how you would act. Because you just have never had to be in that position, and I hope you never have to be.”

With tears in her eyes, she continued, “I mean, everybody loses someone or something at some point in their lives, but losing a child is literally the worst pain. And I would not want anybody to go through it.”

Influencer Emilie Kiser’s Family Photos Before Son Trigg’s Death

Kiser said she is hurt by critics who think she hasn’t grieved properly or opened up enough on the tragedy.

“For people to say, ‘If this were me, I would just be crippled and I would be thinking about them all day and I wouldn’t be able to continue on,’ do you not think that everywhere I look in my house, I don’t see my child?” she said. “His photos are everywhere. His artwork is everywhere. … I love that because he’s my child and I never want to forget him. But I’m not showing that on camera. I’m not showing you all those things.”

She explained that she wasn’t “sharing my kids anymore, therefore I’m not sharing Teddy and I’m not sharing Trigg. I’m doing my best and I’m sharing a very small portion because I’m not ready to share other things. I’m not ready to talk about other things. And that is OK. Those are the things I am unpacking in my therapy sessions and with professionals and with my family.” (She and husband Brady Kiser also share son Teddy, who was born in March.)

Kiser added: “And those are not things that I think I should be coming on the internet and unpacking with millions of people.”

Emilie Kiser Reveals If She’s Taking Medication After Death of Son Trigg, 3

While she feels “ready to return to work in some sense of normalcy, I am not ready to talk about anything about what happened to him,” she said, tearfully adding, “Very much processing the loss of my son.”

Kiser added that people are “entitled to say what they want about my grief journey,” but reminded them that they’re “not seeing the full scope of things. I am sharing the moments that I can bear to film and that I want to film, because it kind of helps me step out of my reality for a second, and do my job, which I very much enjoy. I genuinely enjoy content creation. That’s why I do it.”

The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly in May that Trigg died after being pulled unconscious from the family’s backyard pool. In July, authorities submitted a criminal charge recommendation for Trigg’s father, Brady, who was home when the incident occurred. A statement shared by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office later said there was “no likelihood of conviction.”

After taking a break from social media in the aftermath of Trigg’s death, Kiser broke her silence in August.

“Loss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’ve spent days, weeks, months trying to find them and also take the time I’ve needed to digest the loss of my baby.”

Danielle Fishel Reveals Which 8 ‘Boy Meets World’ Stars Will Be at ‘DWTS’

Danielle Fishel is rounding up — almost — all of her Boy Meets World costars for Dancing With the Stars Dedication Night.

Fishel, 44, took to Instagram on Monday, October 13, to reveal that eight of her former castmates will be in the ballroom for the special evening, which will feature her performing a special dance with partner Pasha Pashkov and Bill Daniels a.k.a Mr. Feeny from the hit ‘90s sitcom. Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter), Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews), William Russ (Alan Matthews), Trina McGee (Angela Moore), Bonnie Bartlett (Dean Bolander) and Alex Désert (Eli Williams) will also be in attendance.

“The fabulous group of people who will be joining me at DWTS tomorrow for Dedication night!” Fishel wrote alongside the eight photos of the costars. “I feel such an overwhelming responsibility to give a full out, joyous, celebratory dance to the man who is responsible for THOUSANDS of people becoming teachers and who has helped raise multiple generations. This dance is a dedication from me to Bill but I am representing ALL OF YOU who loved and appreciated him and his career for so many decades.”

She also gave a shout out to Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter on the show, telling fans that he won’t be able to attend because he is “working out of town” but he “will be missed.”

Danielle Fishel Is Dedicating ‘DWTS’ Dance to Boy Meets World’s Mr. Feeny

“This is our Coachella,” the Instagram account for “Pod Meets World,” Fishel’s rewatch podcast with Strong, 45, and Friedle, 49, replied in the comments section.

Fishel announced on the October 8 episode of her “Danielle With the Stars” podcast that she had chosen Daniels, 98, for season 34’s Dedication Night. She shared that she and Pashkov, 39, will be performing a jive to the Boy Meets World theme song, and Daniels will be “on the ballroom floor with us and he’s going to participate in the dance as well.”

“Saying it out loud feels crazy. But yes, we get to dance to the Boy Meets World theme song, the one you all know and love.” (The sitcom had three different theme songs throughout its seven season run, but Fishel was likely referring to the final track that played from seasons 5 through 7.)

Boy Meets World aired from 1993 to 2000 and starred Ben Savage as Cory Matthews, a boy learning how to juggle friendship, school, family and romance. Fishel played Topanga, Cory’s love interest and eventual wife, while Daniels was the beloved teacher who followed them throughout high school and college. The relationship between Feeny and the kids was a staple to the series, with the finale scene of the show being a tear-filled goodbye between Savage, Fishel, Daniels, Strong and Friedle. “Dream, try, do good,” he tells them as they all hug goodbye.

“It’s really a dedication to Bill and the role he has played in my life and the role Boy Meets World has played in my life,” Fishel explained in her October 8 announcement. “He’s just such an inspiration to so many of us. And to be able to say thank you to him and to give him this kind of a platform for him to receive the love that he deserves is going to be very memorable.”

She later told Entertainment Weekly that Daniels has had the “most incredible” career, which has inspired her over the years.

“I feel like I’m having a second act in my life and in my career at 44 years old,” she told the outlet earlier this month. “To see him at 98 still going to conventions, he’s gonna be on the ballroom floor next week, and he was part of a show that completely changed my life.”

Danielle Fishel Is Already Planning a ‘Boy Meets World’ Tribute on ‘DWTS’

Fishel and Pashkov have, per the DWTS judges, been in the “middle of the pack” throughout season 34 but found themselves in the bottom three during Disney night on October 7. The pair were ultimately saved when Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko were the ones sent home.

“We’re going to continue to take the judge’s feedback. They’re really good at giving us very specific notes,” she told Us Weekly exclusively after the episode. “I’m gonna go home and watch the tape, and see if I can see what they’re talking about with the area where there was a bit of a mess-up in the lindy hop [section], and then I’m just gonna see what I can improve. I just want to get better every week. So every week, I’m like, ‘Whatever I need to do.’”

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays. Episodes are available to stream next day on Hulu.
