Castel Malawi foster ties with stakeholders

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Leading alcoholic beverage producer in the country, Castel Malawi Limited has challenged its stakeholders to prioritize transparency and sustainable business practices in their daily operations.

The call was made during a stakeholder engagement meeting held on Monday in Blantyre, bringing together Castel Malawi employees, suppliers, and distributors to share ideas and strengthen collaboration across the company’s value chain.

According to Castel Malawi Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Linda Kolomba, the meeting was designed to deepen trust and open communication between the company and its key partners.

“It was an interaction meeting where we wanted to engage with our stakeholders so that we can share our expectations in our business conduct. Some of the key topics discussed ranged from procurement, legal, human resources, corporate social responsibilities and whistleblowing and tip-off mechanisms, among others,” said Kolomba.

Shame on Chakwera for leaving State House vandalised

……Citizens demand accountability as reports of looting and damage tarnish the Presidency’s image

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Fresh reports from the State House have ignited public outrage following revelations of widespread damage and alleged looting that reportedly began around September 16, 2025.

Malawians are expressing disbelief that such destruction could occur within the nation’s most guarded and symbolically important residence of power.

The State House is more than just a presidential residence—it stands as a reflection of Malawi’s dignity, order, and leadership before the world.

When reports of vandalism and property damage surfaced, the public’s initial reaction was one of shock, disappointment, and disbelief at how such negligence could go unchecked.

Many have pointed fingers at President Lazarus Chakwera’s administration, demanding clear answers on who was responsible for the mismanagement and how such a breach could happen under its watch.

Observers believe this incident underscores a deeper issue of weak supervision, moral decay, and poor institutional discipline within government circles.

Some analysts suggest that the situation may also signal internal frustrations or breakdowns in leadership within the corridors of power.

Regardless of the underlying reasons, the alleged looting and damage have cast a dark shadow over the image of the presidency and raised concerns about the government’s seriousness in safeguarding public property.

Malawians are calling for transparency, accountability, and firm action to ensure that those behind the destruction face justice and that similar incidents never occur again.

As the country gears up for the 2025 general elections, this episode serves as a powerful reminder that leadership must begin with responsibility, integrity, and respect for the nation’s institutions.

Africa’s expanding aviation network: Top 10 countries with the most airports and airfields

Africa’s vast geography and growing economies have led to the rapid development of an extensive aviation network that connects cities, regions, and nations across the continent.

From bustling international hubs to small rural airstrips, airports and airfields play a vital role in linking communities, supporting trade, boosting tourism, and driving economic growth.

Airports, by definition, are facilities with paved runways and regular commercial flight operations that handle both passenger and cargo transport, serving as gateways for domestic and international connectivity.

Airfields, on the other hand, include smaller, often unpaved runways used for private flights, charter services, regional logistics, and emergency operations, especially in remote or hard-to-reach areas.

The Central Intelligence Agency’s World Factbook provides updated statistics on the number of airports and airfields in African countries, including operational, abandoned, and military installations.

According to recent data, Algeria ranks tenth in Africa with 95 airports and airfields, spread across its vast territory, which includes large expanses of desert and remote settlements.

The country’s main international hub, Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers, handles the majority of Algeria’s passenger and cargo traffic, connecting the nation to major destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

Beyond its international airport, Algeria’s smaller facilities are strategically distributed to serve mining regions, military bases, and isolated communities within the Sahara, where road access remains limited.

This network highlights the crucial role aviation plays in Algeria’s national infrastructure, ensuring that even distant regions remain connected for economic and social activities.

Across the continent, similar patterns emerge in other leading African nations, where the expansion and modernization of airports continue to support regional integration and international competitiveness.

Countries such as South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ethiopia remain leaders in aviation infrastructure, operating major hubs like OR Tambo, Cairo International, Jomo Kenyatta, and Bole International Airport.

These airports not only facilitate passenger travel but also handle vast volumes of air cargo, strengthening Africa’s participation in global trade and supply chains.

The continued investment in airport infrastructure across Africa signals a broader commitment to improving mobility, boosting tourism, and attracting foreign investment.

Moreover, the rise of budget airlines, regional air partnerships, and airport modernization projects has made air travel more accessible to the African middle class and business community.

While some countries still struggle with outdated facilities and limited air connectivity, others are leveraging aviation as a catalyst for national development and global competitiveness.

The growth of Africa’s aviation network reflects the continent’s broader transformation—driven by urbanization, population growth, and a vision for a more connected future.

As governments and private investors continue to prioritize air transport infrastructure, Africa’s skies are becoming busier, its cities more connected, and its economies more integrated than ever before.

Trabzonspor eager to sign Cameroonian shot-stopper Onana on a permanent deal

TRAZBON-(MaraviPost)-Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor are reportedly ready to make a permanent move for goalkeeper Andre Onana, following his exceptional start to life at the club.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper has impressed both fans and officials since his arrival, becoming one of the standout performers in the early part of the season.

Onana joined Trabzonspor on a short-term arrangement but his impact has been immediate.

In just four games, he has already managed to record two clean sheets, delivered one assist and scooped two Man of the Match awards a record that speaks volumes about his influence on the pitch.

Club insiders reveal that Trabzonspor’s board is now keen to turn the loan move into a permanent deal before other clubs begin to show interest.

The management believes Onana’s experience and quality could play a vital role in their long-term ambitions to challenge for domestic and European honors.

Head coach Abdullah Avcı has been full of praise for the former Inter Milan and Manchester United goalkeeper, describing him as “a leader both on and off the pitch.”

According to Avcı, Onana’s calmness, confidence and ability to play out from the back have completely transformed the team’s defensive structure.

Fans have also taken notice of his performances, flooding social media with praise and calling him one of the best goalkeepers the club has seen in years.

Many Trabzonspor supporters believe Onana has brought a new sense of stability to the squad, something the team has been missing for quite some time.

In one of his most memorable moments so far, Onana provided an assist with a long-range pass that led to a crucial winning goal a rare achievement for a goalkeeper.

The club suggest that discussions with Onana’s representatives could begin soon with Trabzonspor eager to finalize terms before the January transfer window.

The club is reportedly prepared to offer a lucrative contract that reflects his growing importance in the team.

However, securing Onana’s signature might not be an easy task.

Several European clubs are said to be monitoring his situation closely, impressed by his resurgence and consistent performances in Turkey.

Windfall on Dedza Dynamos as Prophet Bushiri pumps MK1.2bn sponsorship

By Edwin Mbewe

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)–Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on October 7, 2025, unveiled a MK1.2 billion sponsorship for TNM Super League outfit Dedza Dynamos Football Club.

The contract signing between Goshen City and Dedza Dynamos FC took place at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe, where it was revealed that the partnership will run for two and a half years.

Speaking to the media, Bushiri said, “We believe much in purpose and competitiveness, which are driven by instincts.

“When we look at Dedza, we believe there is so much potential in the team. We see hope, we see young men that are charismatic and have the purpose to move forward.

“We believe this team can be transformed into something they dream of. Goshen City, being a brand, also likes having like-minded people with a vision of moving forward,” says Bushiri.

The Prophet adds, “We believe this is not just a sponsorship but will also help create a benchmark showing that football isn’t just a sport—it unites the community, promotes tourism, and is an industry that creates jobs and empowers communities.

“Our vision extends beyond the money we have invested. I can’t just put all my eggs in one basket. First, I want to understand the life of the team, and this will be technical, not just about money. Both parties will work together on this. We want this team to reach an international platform. We want the team to win—Goshen City is a brand that is always on the winning side”.

Dedza Dynamos General Secretary Wiseman Banda hailed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri for the timely sponsorship, noting that the team has been facing a financial crisis.

“There are many items we have discussed with the man of God. Firstly, we have been told to establish an academy that will help nurture and groom young stars so that the club can produce its own players and stop buying from the market.

“Our first investment will go toward the academy so that in the next generation, teams will come and buy from us. Secondly, we want to improve our squad by acquiring more talented players to compete better. Additionally, we will motivate our current players by improving their salaries and allowances,” Banda explained.

The team, currently in 12th position with 21 points from 19 games, will now be called Goshen City Dedza Dynamos.
