Taylor Rooks Reflects on Her ‘Magical’ Wedding: ‘My Favorite Year of My Life’

Thursday Night Football’s Taylor Rooks is in the midst of an unforgettable year, both personally and professionally — and she’s making sure to soak it all up.

Rooks, 33, works the sidelines for Prime Video’s NFL coverage and will lead the streamer’s inaugural NBA studio broadcast when the basketball season starts later this year.

Oh, and she also found time to get married to her husband, Shane Fowler, in a star-studded ceremony in July.

“Every cliché they tell you about weddings is true,” Rooks exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Crown Royal. “I’m not a big cliché person, but it literally is the best night of your life. People used to ask, ‘What is your best day?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I now have an answer.”

Celebrity Weddings of 2025: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, More

Rooks and Fowler, who met Rooks during his final year at Harvard Law School, got married at New York City’s Gotham Hall. Their lavish ceremony was attended by athletes like Saquon Barkley, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, and celebrities like Tinashe, Jack Harlow and Coco Jones

“It goes by way too fast,” Rooks said of her wedding day. “You blink and the night is over, and you don’t want it to be over.”

She added, “It’s just so trippy to see your worlds collide. People having a conversation that you just never thought would be having a conversation. Your worlds are meshing and seeing all the people you love in one room is crazy. It was a truly magical, magical night. I feel very lucky, very happy. This is absolutely my favorite year of my life.”

The fact that Rooks is able to live in the moment and appreciate everything that’s happened this year is something she’s been proactive about.

“I’ve been trying to intentionally work on being present and taking things in and pausing and stopping to consider how I feel and let it actually soak in,” Rooks explained. “I am trying to do that, and this year has certainly helped me do that. I think that’s just a work in progress for everybody all the time. Our lives move so quickly that we aren’t always taking a beat.”

Before the NBA season tips off later this month, Rooks partnered with Crown Royal as the first-ever Passenger Princess on the Crown Royal Rig, which is traveling around to different NFL destinations and surprising football fans with premium ticket upgrades throughout the season courtesy of the Royal Seat.

“Crown Royal made me royalty, what more can I ask for?” Rooks joked. “I get to bring the vibes and the excitement and set the tone for game day.”

Rooks had boots on the ground in Kansas City on Sunday, September 28, where she was able to get a vibe check with Chiefs fans before their showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.

“Every time someone would have on a Chiefs jersey, I’d say, ‘How are we feeling about the game? It’s a big one. Can you beat Lamar [Jackson]?’” Rooks said. “And it was emphatic. We were getting ‘Yes,’ all around. They were like, ‘It’s early, we always figure it out.’ Chiefs fans, at this point, understand. In Patrick Mahomes, we trust. In Andy Reid, we trust.”

The Chiefs defeated the Ravens on Sunday, 37-20, to improve their record to 2-2.

NFL fans who catch the Crown Royal Rig on tour will have a chance to climb in the Royal Seat, snap some photos and test their luck at honking the rig horn. Those who succeed will be crowned Passenger Princess (or Prince) and receive premium ticket upgrades for that day’s game.
