East African Nations launch feasibility study for Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba Railway Extension

….Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan explore technical and financial viability to enhance regional trade and connectivity

NAIROBI-(MaraviPost)-Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan have launched a nine-week feasibility study to evaluate the potential extension of the Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba railway line.

The study aims to assess both the technical and financial viability of the proposed railway expansion.

Officials say the findings will guide plans to link the line to the Malaba border and ultimately extend it into South Sudan.

The project is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity, facilitating smoother trade across East Africa.

By connecting key commercial hubs, the railway extension could reduce transport costs and improve the efficiency of cross-border logistics.

The study involves consultations with engineers, financial experts, and regional stakeholders to ensure the project meets international standards and economic feasibility.

If successfully implemented, the railway line would strengthen economic integration among the three countries and promote sustainable regional development.

The governments involved have emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving a project that benefits communities, businesses, and the broader East African economy.

Kelly Clarkson Helps Fans Get Engaged in 1st Concert Since Ex’s Death

Kelly Clarkson’s return to the Las Vegas stage was certainly a memorable night.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host, 43, commemorated her return to her Studio Sessions residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, November 7, by helping two separate couples celebrate relationship milestones. Viral footage revealed Clarkson’s reaction when one fan popped the question to his boyfriend in the front row.

“Say, ‘yes,’ bitch,” Clarkson playfully demanded.

Once the couple were officially engaged, it was time for them to seal the deal with a kiss in front of an entire arena full of witnesses.

“That is so sweet,” Clarkson beamed as the newly-engaged couple embraced.

As the crowd cheered, the couple, who were visiting from London, assured Clarkson that she’d definitely bagged a wedding invite. Clarkson then slyly warned the duo to “ignore [her next] song” and focus on their engagement.

“Just stay in this moment, hang out there, you know what I’m saying? Maybe go to the bathroom,” she joked. “I don’t wanna poo on your parade.”

The surprises continued later in the show when Clarkson helped another couple celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, according to a TikTok video.

“You made it a decade? F*** yeah, look at that,” she quipped.

Clarkson even agreed to oversee an unofficial commitment ceremony for the couple, teasing; “If Blake Shelton can do this, any f***ing person can do this, they’ll let anyone do it.”

(Shelton has officiated multiple weddings, including Clarkson’s former father-in-law Narvel Blackstock tying the knot with his wife, Laura Stroud, in 2024.)

“Do you both promise to keep dancing through life together — this is amazing! — offbeat or not, for at least another 10 years?” she asked, before revising her prediction: “F*** that — [how about] 50, 60? Aim high!”

Friday night’s Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions concert marked her first appearance in Las Vegas since she initially postponed the residency in August. At the time, she explained that her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock was experiencing health issues.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson announced on August 6. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

The following day, a family spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly that Blackstock had died at age 48 following a three-year battle with cancer. (Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2022 and shared two children: River Rose, 11, and Remy, 9. Blackstock was also a father to Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, whom he shared with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth.)

Kelly Clarkson Makes ‘Emotional’ Return to Her Talk Show After Ex’s Death

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family,” a rep for the family told Us. “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

The three-time Grammy Award winner has yet to comment publicly about Blackstock’s death, though a source told Us in August that her main focus was on her children.

“It has been draining, exhausting, emotional [and] devastating,” the insider noted. “A big part of it was making her schedule available for transporting the children to visit Brandon, and all of the emotions that came with this difficult time.”

Clarkson paused all work as she helped her two children grieve their father’s death. Eventually, the American Idol winner returned to her Kelly Clarkson Show set in New York City for the season 7 premiere on September 29 — and ultimately confirmed on Monday, November 3, that she was resuming her Las Vegas residency, as well.

Britney Spears Returns to Instagram With Racy Photo After Deleting Account

Oops, she did it again! Britney Spears has returned to Instagram with a sexy photo less than a week after seemingly deleting her account.

The “Toxic” singer, 43, reactivated her Instagram on Friday, November 8, to pose in black-and-white lingerie while giving her followers a sneak peek at her closet. Spears also got a bit philosophical as she reflected on her whirlwind year.

“So much has happened this year, it’s crazy … I try to live within my means and the book, Draw the Circle is an incredible perspective. Get your ballerina 🩰, circle, and own your boundaries,” Spears wrote.

The Grammy Award winner continued, “It’s incredibly strict and somewhat of a form of prayer but with so many endless possibilities in life, it’s important to do you and keep it simple. I know there is a confusing side too. The devil is in the details but we can get to that later.”

Spears’ social media return came six days after she appeared to deactivate her Instagram account on Sunday, November 2. Fans who tried accessing her Instagram received the message: “The profile you’re looking for doesn’t exist.”

Us Weekly reached out to Spears for comment at the time.

Spears has been embroiled in controversy over the publication of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s tell-all memoir You Thought You Knew in October. Federline, 47, specifically raised concerns about Spear’s Instagram posts both in his book and in promotional interviews.

In an excerpt from the book obtained by Us, Federline worried “history [was] repeating itself” as he drew comparisons to Spears’ public behavior following their 2007 divorce. Spears was ultimately placed under a 13-year conservatorship that was only terminated amid public pressure from the “Free Britney” movement in 2021.

Britney Spears Worries Kevin Federline’s Book Will Build ‘Barrier’ With Sons

“With her newfound freedom, I saw history repeating itself,” Federline wrote. “Her social media posts became more erratic. There were the infamous videos of her dancing with knives, cryptic rants and wild behavior that was impossible to ignore.”

Federline alleged that his and Spears’ two sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, “quickly learned to avoid social media” because of the backlash they’d face by responding to their mother’s fans.

“They knew what [responding] would bring: endless negativity and blame aimed at them from fans who didn’t understand the full story,” he claimed. “The Free Britney extremists were brutal. The boys understood that it was better to form a relationship with their mom on their own terms.”

A spokesperson for Spears condemned Federline for promoting “sensationalism” and suggested he’d timed the release of his memoir “after child support has ended.” Spears eventually released her own response, in which she insisted “gaslighting from [her] ex-husband” was “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”

“Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here,” she wrote. “I will always love [my kids] and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking. I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same.”

Speaking exclusively to Us, Federline clapped back at his ex-wife’s accusation that You Thought You Knew was an attempt to make quick cash.

6 Revelations From Britney Spears’ Ex Kevin Federline’s Book

“Money’s not the root of this thing,” he insisted. “I feel like, if she has the right to tell her story, why don’t I?”

Federline referenced Spears’ own New York Times Bestselling 2023 memoir The Woman in Me, adding: “Everybody’s entitled to their point of view. Her perspective is what it is, and I have my perspective, and I feel that I’m entitled to that as well.”

The dancer admitted he “couldn’t even remember the last conversation” he’d had with Spears, though he insisted he held no grudges.

“All I really want is for her to be able to have a wonderful relationship with her children,” Federline told Us. “I want her to be happy, healthy and all of the things. I want nothing but greatness for her.”

Contested Simplex Chithyola’s Kasungu South Parliamentary seat verdict on Nov 25

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-High Court in Lilongwe is set to deliver its ruling on November 25, 2025, in a case between independent candidate Joseph Manguluti and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) legislator Simplex Chithyola Banda, who both contested in the September 16 parliamentary elections for Kasungu South Constituency.

This follows a petition filed by Joseph Manguluti, who is challenging the outcome of the September 16 elections, in which he lost to Chithyola Banda by just over 500 votes

Manguluti alleges that Chithyola Banda’s victory was not a result of genuine popularity or policy appeal but rather influenced by money and manipulation.

On Friday, High Court Judge Redson Kapindu upheld Manguluti’s petition and dismissed an application by Chithyola Banda’s legal team, led by Wapona Kita, which sought to have the case struck out on technical grounds.

In his ruling, Justice Kapindu found that the defence’s arguments for dismissal were insufficient and ruled that the matter proceed to a full hearing.

During the hearing, the lawyer for the petitioner, Chimwemwe Sikwese, argued that there were serious electoral irregularities in Kasungu South constituency and presented his client’s evidence to support the claim.

On the other hand, Kita, representing Chithyola Banda, maintained that the evidence presented was inadequate and asked the court to dismiss the case.

This means Chithyola position as Leader of Opposition in Malawi Parliament hangs inbalance till the verdict is made in the court.

Malawi boxer Chimkwapulo in hard luck third-round TKO loss to Botswana’s Raokgwathile

GABORONE-(MaraviPost)-Grey Chimkwapulo’s bid to make an impact on the regional boxing scene faced a setback on Saturday in Gaborone, where the Malawian fighter suffered a third-round TKO defeat to Botswana’s Kago Raokgwathile.

From the opening bell, though, it became clear that this fight would demand every ounce of resilience he had. Raokgwathile, calm and confident, used his height and reach like tools sharpened for a specific purpose.

His southpaw stance only intensified the challenge, forcing Chimkwapulo to constantly rethink his approach.

Chimkwapulo tried to do what he does best, step inside, stick the jab and let combinations flow. But every time he inched forward, Raokgwathile’s long right jab disrupted the rhythm.

It wasn’t just the power behind those punches, it was the timing, the precision, the quiet message that the Botswana fighter had prepared meticulously for this moment.

The Malawian corner could be heard calling for patience, urging Chimkwapulo to work angles instead of charging head-on.

He listened, adjusting footwork and slipping better in the second round but even then, Raokgwathile never looked flustered.

He moved with the ease of someone who knew he was controlling the narrative.

As the exchanges intensified, the crowd split into two emotional worlds.

On one side, Malawian supporters yelled every instruction they could think of, voices cracking with both fear and faith.

On the other, Botswana fans roared with confidence each time Raokgwathile’s punches landed cleanly. The arena felt like it was breathing in and out with every clash.

By the third round, Chimkwapulo’s determination was still blazing but his body had absorbed too much. Raokgwathile saw the opening he had been waiting for and launched a punch that echoed off the arena walls.

Chimkwapulo hit the canvas in a moment that felt painfully slow for Malawian supporters.

He pushed himself up, refusing to stay down, and fans briefly believed the story might still turn around.

But as he reached his feet, the look exchanged between him and his corner told a deeper truth.

His coach stepped forward, concerned not about pride but about preserving his fighter’s long journey ahead.

The referee waved it off, declaring a technical knockout and the Botswana supporters erupted in celebration.

Raokgwathile lifted his gloves high, acknowledging both his victory and the battle Chimkwapulo had given him.

It was a win earned through strategy, discipline and execution.

Chimkwapulo, the loss stings, especially after months of training and the confidence he carried into the bout.

Yet, the story doesn’t end there. He has fallen before and risen again, tougher and sharper each time. Those close to him know this defeat will only sharpen his hunger.

In the locker room afterward, there were no dramatic speeches or excuses.

Just a calm moment between a fighter and his team, accepting the night’s outcome and already thinking about the next climb.

Boxing is unforgiving but it’s also a sport that rewards persistence more than perfection.
