3 Under-the-Radar Hulu Movies to Watch This Weekend (November 7-9): ‘A Knight’s Tale’ and More

If you’re depressed that Halloween is over, don’t fret — Hulu has you covered.

The Disney-owned streamer has a stellar November lineup of hit movies, so much so that it’s hard to pick which ones to watch.

Well, not for Watch With Us. We’ve curated a brief list of 3 under-the-radar Hulu movies you should watch this weekend.

You can’t go wrong if you stream with the historical comedy A Knight’s Tale, the searing drama Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead or the underrated fantasy flick Eragon.

‘A Knight’s Tale’ (2001)

In the late ‘90s, Heath Ledger’s star was ascending thanks to a series of modestly successful teen comedies like 10 Things I Hate About You, but he established himself as a leading man with A Knight’s Tale, a rousing Medieval rom-com that charmed moviegoers in the summer of 2001. Nearly a quarter of a century later, it will charm you, too.

7 New Movies to Watch This Weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and More (October 31-November 2)

Ledger stars as William Thatcher, a poor squire who impersonates his very wealthy but very dead master in a jousting tournament to win some badly needed money. To maintain his noble disguise, he teams up with struggling author Geoffrey Chaucer (Paul Bettany) to fool the tournament’s organizers and woo Jocelyn (Shannyn Sossamon), a noblewoman who longs to have some fun. But how long can Will’s charade last, especially when his rival, the evil Count Adhemar (Rufus Sewell), smells a rat?

Even though it incorporates real historical figures and faithfully recreates 14th-century England, A Knight’s Tale plays fast and loose with facts. When William dances with Jocelyn at a ball, they shake their butts to David Bowie’s “Golden Years” instead of more period-accurate harpsichord music. It’s that kind of anachronistic, free-wheeling spirit that permeates throughout A Knight’s Tale, and makes it as irresistible as Ledger himself.

A Knight’s Tale is streaming on Hulu.

‘Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead’ (2007)

Ethan Hawke just gave one of his best performances ever in the biopic Blue Moon, but the Before Sunrise actor has been quietly great for decades. One underrated movie of his you should check out is Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, an ensemble drama featuring some of the best actors of this generation and masterful direction by Sidney Lumet, who would pass away shortly after this movie’s release.

Cash-strapped brothers Hank (Hawke) and Andy (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) concoct a wild scheme to get some much-needed cash — they will rob their parents’ jewelry store in the hope that they can fence the stolen goods and pocket the insurance money. But their best laid plans soon go awry, and a tragedy tears their family apart. As their involvement in the crime threatens to surface, each brother has to deal with the likelihood that they will go to jail — or a fate much worse than that.

Hawke is terrific as the easily swayed Hank, who just wants to win the approval of his big brother, but Hoffman is even better as the son who never felt as loved as his other sibling. That resentment explains a lot of his behavior throughout the film, which borders on the cruel. Albert Finney and Marisa Tomei round out the cast as the patriarch and Andy’s cheating wife, respectively, and they give some of the best performances of their careers. By the end, the movie transforms into a modern-day Greek tragedy, with an emotionally shattering climax that Aeschylus himself could have written.

Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead is streaming on Hulu.

‘Eragon’ (2006)

In the mid-2000s, Harry Potter reigned supreme at the box office, and every studio wanted its own family-friendly fantasy franchise. That explains why Eragon was one of 2006’s most eagerly awaited movies. Based on Christopher Paolini’s successful YA novels, the film ultimately proved a monumental disappointment, and a newly born franchise was cut short before it could truly take flight. Seen nearly 20 years later, the film still has its flaws, but it’s a surprisingly fun adventure story with an impressive cast of Oscar winners and some of the best English character actors around.

When curious farm boy Eragon (Edward Speleers) finds an ancient stone while foraging, he thinks he can trade it for some money. To his surprise, the stone is actually a dragon’s egg that quickly hatches. Eragon raises the dragon, which calls itself Saphira (voiced by Rachel Weisz) and talks to him via a telepathic link with his mind. They quickly become the best of pals, but soon, they’re both hunted by the evil king Galbatorix (John Malkovich), who wants them dead because they threaten his power. Now Eragon must train to battle Galbatorix’s army to save himself, Saphira and all of Alagaesia before it’s too late.

New on Hulu in November 2025 — The Full List of Movies, TV Shows and More

Sound familiar? That’s because Eragon borrows shamelessly from Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and pretty much any fantasy franchise you can think of. Original it is not, but it’s amusing enough to watch if you’re craving something that’s not too challenging. The stacked cast makes it watchable, with Weisz bringing it as the fierce dragon and Malkovich making a meal out of any piece of scenery he can chew on and spit out.

Eragon is streaming on Hulu.

Mark Wahlberg’s Daughter Grace, 15, Injured During Equestrian Event

Mark Wahlberg’s daughter was injured while on horseback during an equestrian competition over the weekend.

Grace, 15, posted a photo of herself wearing a sling in a hospital bed via Instagram on Monday, November 3, writing, “No pressure we will be back.” She also shared photos from various horseback riding events.

Wahlberg, 54, commented on Grace’s post with various emojis. “🙏😢🙏,” he shared before adding in another post, “❤️‍🩹🙏❤️‍🩹.” His wife and Grace’s mom, Rhea Durham, also commented, “No doubt kid.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Wahlberg’s rep for comment.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Injuries Through the Years

Although no other updates have been shared about Grace’s particular injury, according to Durham’s Instagram, her daughter competed at Desert Horse Park in Thermal, California and placed in events on three different horses. “Chow- 🥇🏆 champion for 1.30 Cheeto- 🥇🏆 champion for 1.20 Cruise- 🥈 reserve champion 1.10 Congratulations Grace!!!! 🥕🌟💫🔥🌵🏇🏽,” Durham, 47, shared.

The former model — who shares Grace, Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, with her husband of 16 years — also posted a motivating quote: “Sometimes I just look up, smile and say, ‘I know that was you. Thank you.’”

“Things could always be worse. Remember that one. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼,” she captioned the post.

Wahlberg has been open about sharing his spectator point of view at equestrian events, taking to Instagram with photos and videos from Grace’s shows.

He’s also spoken about her impressive horseback riding skills, telling People in 2023, “She works out now. She’s an equestrian. She now wants to go up in meters and to be a Grand Prix Jumper. She’s got to train.”

He continued, “She’s doing things that my other kids are kind of now starting to think, ‘Well, we’ve got to start doing something because she’s got it all figured out, what she wants to do and how she wants to do it.’”

Wahlberg left California and moved to Nevada with his family in 2022 to give them “a better life.”

“To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us,” he explained on The Talk at the time. “We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”

Reportedly, he also purchased a home in Florida last month.

“For me, everything I do now, it’s for my kids. It’s for their future,” Wahlberg exclusively shared with Us Weekly at Amazon’s Play Dirty world premiere in September. “I try to find that balance. They came to Australia while I was making this movie to visit.”

He was supported by several family members, including his kids, on the red carpet in New York City.

“[I’m] trying to find that balance of spending quality time with them,” he added to Us, “and then also being able to fulfill my creative endeavors.”

Hilary Duff Shares ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Secrets on ‘Therapuss’ Podcast: Quotes

Podcaster Jake Shane is just like Us — and wanted to get all the Lizzie McGuire tea from Hilary Duff.

Duff, 38, appeared on the “Therapuss” podcast on Wednesday, November 5, to promote her new song, “Mature.” While she and Shane, 26, talked music, they also took a walk down memory lane.

“It was fun. I loved it,” Duff recalled when discussing her time starring on the iconic Disney Channel show from 2001 to 2004. “I had the best time.”

She noted that Lizzie McGuire “broke all of their records” on Disney Channel, which led to a different formula for the series that came after.

Keep scrolling for Duff’s quotes about her Lizzie McGuire days:

‘Lizzie McGuire’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Why the Show Only Had 2 Seasons

Duff admitted that it was “complicated” for her to understand at the time but there was a “formula” for Disney Channel shows.

“They just ordered a certain amount of episodes, and that was what they did for their shows. They spent this amount of money, they had this amount of order, and they stuck to that formula for all of those shows,” the actress said. “I never understood that. I think one year we shot 30 episodes in one year, and maybe the next one was 35 episodes in one year.”

What Happened to Lizzie and Gordo?

Duff does not think that Lizzie and Gordo “had a thing” post-show.

“I think they had maybe an almost thing post,” she explained. “In my mind, I like to think she had a thing with Ethan Craft [Clayton Snyder], finally.”

Gordo is “always there to pick up her pieces still,” Duff added.

Stepping Away from Lizzie

Duff recalled being “so ready” to put Lizzie behind her after the show ended.

“I don’t mean to talk about her as [like] I needed a break from that. But I really needed a break from her,” she explained. “I feel like I was her. I’m not going to pretend that I was some amazing actress. She was me; I was her. It was the same. We were both in the same exact element of our lives and time of our lives, but she just became so famous.”

Breaking Down Every Planned Story Line for the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot

What Happened to the Reboot?

In 2020, the possibility of a Lizzie McGuire revival was canceled after Duff shot two episodes.

“There was just disagreements on how far we could take her and where she is. She would have been, when we were filming that, 30 or 31,” she explained. “For me, I was that age and so I just also felt so deeply connected to her as a character because we were the same.”

She added, “I wasn’t trying to have her wake up and do bong rips or anything, but she was a normal 30-year-old. There was some things I think they just weren’t totally willing to go there.”

The ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ Success

Duff admitted that she has no recollection of her time recording the iconic 2003 Lizzie McGuire Movie song.

“I will say, now I love it. And when I was filming the movie, I loved it,” she recalled. “It was a weird time, and it wasn’t technically my song. It was a Lizzie McGuire song.”

Duff noted that she feels “a lot of joy” when singing the song now.

“I just think that there was such a separation back then of me and my music and Lizzie McGuire,” she continued. “I didn’t really get to perform that song live because I didn’t own it.”

Duff teased that “hypothetically” if she were going on tour now, she’d be able to perform it.

Sam Smith Recalls Getting Liposuction at 13 After Being Teased at School

Sam Smith is opening up getting liposuction at age 13 — and why it turned into a “nightmare.”

The Grammy winner, who uses they/them pronouns, spoke about the experience on the Wednesday, November 5, episode of the “Podcrushed” podcast hosted by Penn Badgley, Sophie Ansari and Nava Kavelin.

Smith, 33, said they struggled with their weight and felt self-conscious about their body while in high school, leading to them seeking surgery.

“For me, it was always my weight. My weight was the hardest thing for me in school, and weirdly the thing I probably got teased the most about,” Smith said on the podcast.

Stars Who’ve Hit Back Against Body-Shamers

“I had surgery on my chest when I was 13 years old because I had a growing chest,” the “I’m Not the Only One” singer continued. “There was all sorts of reasons why, but mainly that I was just getting so teased. I couldn’t go swimming in school, and getting changed in the locker room was hell. So I got liposuction when I was 13 years old.”

Host Badgley, 39, then asked how Smith’s parents reacted when they said they wanted to go under the knife.

“They were supportive,” Smith responded. “They were hugely supportive of the whole thing because they saw how much it was crippling everything about me.”

Smith said that despite undergoing liposuction, they continued to struggle with their weight and relationship with food.

Lucy Hale and More Stars Who Have Battled Eating Disorders

“It was all a struggle with food and stuff, and the liposuction, it worked, but it was also a nightmare,” they said. “Because they gave me a bandage which is like a bra … I was only meant to wear it for a month, but if I wore the bandage, it meant that I would get to the front of the lunch queue because everyone had to be sensitive about my chest. So I just kept this bandage on for nearly a year.”

“I’d be like, ‘Ooh, don’t come close to me,’ and I’d get first in the lunch queue, and I’d just eat more and eat more,” Smith continued. “So the surgery never really worked because I just love food.”

Smith previously opened up about having liposuction as a teenager in an interview with Jameela Jamil for the Good Place actress’ I Weigh Instagram series in 2019.

“When I was a kid, I was chubby … and then it would get worse and worse and worse, and I was holding a lot of weight in my chest. When I hit 11 years old, I went to the doctor,” the “Unholy” singer said at the time. “I was so self-conscious that it was affecting my mood every day and my life as a teenager.”

Rosie O’Donnell and More Stars Who’ve Used Mounjaro for Weight Loss

“At the time, I think I was very happy about it. It didn’t really change anything,” they continued. “I think I put the weight back on in two weeks because I hadn’t figured out my relationship with food, so it didn’t really change anything. But being 12 years old and having liposuction on your chest is quite a big deal.”

In a January 2023 interview with The Sunday Times, Smith said they’d finally learned to overcome their body dysmorphia after years of insecurities about their physical appearance.

“When I was 25 I came off tour exhausted. I looked to role models in the body world. Every time I went to the pool I felt self-conscious, but I forced myself to take my top off,” they said. “It paid off because I now have the opposite of body dysmorphia. I look fabulous. I’m finally getting a tan. I’m burnt in places I’ve never been burnt.”

Bullets’ disappointing draw at Nankhaka: Peter Mponda’s tactics under scrutiny

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a lackluster display, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets failed to capitalize on the opportunity to gain ground in the TNM Super League title race, drawing 0-0 with Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

The People’s Team, under the stewardship of coach Peter Mponda, looked far from their best as they struggled to break down the Eagles’ defense.

This latest result is the third consecutive setback for Bullets, who suffered a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Mighty Wanderers in a TNM Super League match two weeks ago at Kamuzu Stadium.

The team followed that disappointment with a 1-0 loss to the same opponents in the FDH Bank Cup semifinals last week.

The stalemate against Blue Eagles has raised questions about Mponda’s tactical acumen and the team’s overall form.

Bullets, who are currently second in the league standings, will have to regroup quickly and reassess their strategy if they hope to regain their title aspirations. With key players seemingly off the pace, Mponda faces a daunting task in getting his team back on track.

The match itself was a cagey affair, with neither side able to create a plethora of scoring opportunities.

Blue Eagles, ranked seventh in the league, showed greater resolve in defense, nullifying Bullets’ attacking threats and earning a hard-fought point.

As the league enters its final stretch, Bullets will need to rediscover the form that saw them dominate the competition in recent seasons.

With their title hopes hanging in the balance, Mponda’s coaching skills are under increasing scrutiny.

The 0-0 draw at Nankhaka Stadium will do little to alleviate the pressure on the coach, who will come under intense scrutiny from fans and pundits alike.

Bullets’ next assignment will be a crucial test of their resolve, as they look to bounce back from this disappointing result and keep their title dreams alive.

However, with their current form, it seems like a tall order for the People’s Team.

The draw has seen Bullets drop further behind league leaders Mighty Wanderers, who seem to be pulling away at the top of the table. Unless Bullets can quickly turn their fortunes around, they risk losing out on the title they have dominated for so long.

For now, Bullets fans can only hope that Mponda and his team regroup and come up with a winning strategy to take on the challenges ahead.

One thing is certain – the People’s Team cannot afford to continue in this manner if they hope to emerge as champions.
