The ministry will provide the following donations to five farmers’ clubs in Chiladzulu Fertilizer 50 bags per club,Hoes 15, per club,Maize seeds 10 packets per club,Maize 2000 units,Bread 1000 units.

The donations will benefit the following clubs Kaanani Farmers Club,Shalomu Farmers Club (T/A Mpunga),Ziyoni Farmers Club(Sub T/A Maoni),Eden Farmers Club(SGVH Namande)

It is no exaggeration to say that the last five years were a wasted chapter in Malawi’s history.

The hard truth is that when MCP assumed power and DPP found itself in opposition, the nation’s economy faltered under the weight of mismanagement and unfulfilled promises.

The economic machinery sputtered and stalled, leaving hardworking Malawians grappling with shrinking opportunities and growing uncertainty.

Corruption, like a spreading wildfire, ravaged public trust and resources, while theft and misappropriation grew unchecked. This was not merely a lapse in governance but a profound breaking of the chain that once linked prosperity to responsible leadership.

The presidency of Lazarus Chakwera, though heralded with hope, revealed cracks that widened into chasms.

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Karonga United head coach, Oscar Kaunda, has dismissed suggestions that his team only performs well when facing big clubs in the TNM Super League.

Speaking on Wednesday afternoon at Champions Ground in Mponela after his side came from behind to draw 2-2 against MAFCO FC, Kaunda said Karonga United is a strong and well-balanced team capable of competing against any opponent in the league.

“It’s not true that we only prepare for big teams.What do you even mean by a big team? Is MAFCO a small or a big team?” Kaunda asked rhetorically.

The coach went on to highlight his team’s consistency this season, pointing out that their 34 points after 20 matches have not just come from the traditional giants.

“We drew with Bullets and Wanderers one point each, making two points but where did the other 32 points come from? They came from matches against so-called small teams. That shows we are good against every team,” he emphasized.

Swinney is set to land in Malawi on Friday, October 17 to 20, 2025.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement says, “Swinney’s visit aims to strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Malawi and Scotland”.

During his stay, Swinney will engage in bilateral discussions with senior government officials in Malawi.

He will also undertake site visits to projects that are being implemented with support from the Scottish Government.

Swinney is expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport on Friday,and depart from Bakili Muluzi International Airport on Monday, October 20, 2025.

This publication is yet to learn whether Swinney will meet the newly elected president Peter Mutharika.
