The state weather bureau issued flood advisories in five regions as rain from the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the northeasterly wind flow continued to affect parts of the country Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The northeasterly wind flow refers to a current of air blowing from the northeast, while the ITCZ is a belt of low pressure near the equator where the northeast and southeast trade winds meet.
In its latest report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said advisories were raised over Mimaropa, Northwestern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and BARMM.

Aside from the northeasterly wind flow and ITCZ, Pagasa is also monitoring Typhoon Halong and the new low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), though it said that neither of these weather systems is likely to enter PAR and directly affect the country./abc
