The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has canceled all tsunami warnings issued after the magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Davao Oriental.
Phivolcs issued the cancellation at 1:43 p.m., exactly two hours after they issued tsunami warnings at 11:43 a.m.
‘Any effects due to the tsunami warning have largely passed and therefore, [Phivolcs] has now cancelled all tsunami warnings issued for this event,’ Phivolcs said.
Only one tsunami wave was recorded during the warning period, specifically in Tandag, Surigao Del Sur, which occurred at 10:20 a.m. and it only reached 30 centimeters in height.
