Chanda Romero `very much alive,’ says lawyer, film producer Joji Alonso

Lawyer and film producer Atty. Joji Alonso debunked the reports of Chanda Romero’s supposed death, saying the screen veteran is ‘very much alive.’

Alonso took to her Facebook page on Saturday, Oct. 11, to deny the rumors of Romero’s alleged death, making the ‘Espantaho’ star the latest victim of death hoaxes involving celebrities and other famous personalities.

‘Chanda is very much alive po, and happy and content,’ the post read, which also included screenshots of the false report.

Alonso also called out the unnamed individual behind the death hoax, claiming that it was the ‘same person’ who made a false report about the supposed death of Michael de Mesa.

‘The person who posted this is the same person who posted that Michael de Mesa passed, which we all know is NOT true. I don’t understand why people make up stories like these? Sana ipost nyo na lang na kayo ang namatay (I wish you would post about your own death instead)!!!’ she said.

Romero is one of the lead stars of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival entry ‘Espantaho,’ which earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the annual festival.

The actress currently stars as Olivia Guerrero-Torres in the action drama ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’
