Former Malawi leader Muluzi mourns Odinga

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Former President of the Republic of Malawi, Bakili Muluzi, has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, describing him as a “courageous leader, a champion for democracy, and a true son of Africa.”

In a heartfelt condolence message, Muluzi said he received the news of Odinga’s passing with “profound sadness.”

“On behalf of my family and on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences to you personally, to the children and to the entire Odinga family during this time of immense sorrow,” said Muluzi.

The former Malawian leader reminisced about the close friendship and mutual respect he shared with Odinga over the years, recalling moments of camaraderie and kindness.

“I remember with great fondness the warm friendship and camaraderie we shared over the years and the gracious visit you both made to our home,” he reflected.

Muluzi hailed Odinga as a political icon whose unwavering commitment to democracy and social justice left an indelible mark on the African continent.

“Raila was a courageous leader, a champion for democracy, an icon and a true son of Africa whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come,” Muluzi added.

He concluded by praying for divine strength and peace for the Odinga family during this difficult period.

“May the Almighty God grant you strength, comfort and peace in this most difficult moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,” he said.

The passing of Raila Odinga marks the end of an era in African politics a life devoted to the pursuit of democracy, unity and justice across the continent.
