Three supposed gang members will be facing a criminal complaint for allegedly forcibly entering a Pasig City home and physically abusing three minors and another adult, the police said on Thursday.
The alleged assault took place in Pinagbuhatan last September 23, with the main perpetrator aiming to see and kiss his girlfriend – one of the minors involved, according to Pasig police Col. Hendrix Mangaldan in a press briefing.
‘They (the family of the girlfriend) have decided last night to file complaints against the three suspects. It’s a regular filing,’ Mangaldan said.
He noted that the victim will be filing a complaint for grave threat, acts of lasciviousness and physical injuries in relation to Republic Act No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act before a Pasig City court.
The Pasig top cop declined to disclose the identities of both the perpetrators and the victims.
Mangaldan only identified the perpetrators as members of the ‘True Brown Style’ street gang. ‘They weren’t able to see each other several times and our suspect found our victim, his girlfriend, in that house where the incident happened and he got some of his friends to accompany him in storming in,’ Mangaldan explained.
‘Perhaps, he was triggered by the pressure, the stress of their misunderstanding. He was looking for this victim and when he saw her there, he just went for her,’ he added.
Closed-circuit television footage of the incident circulated on social media, prompting the girlfriend and her family as well as the perpetrators to appear before the authorities.
Mangaldan said police were still ascertaining how the male adult and the female minor began a relationship and what led to their misunderstanding. /das
