Pagasa warned that the storm surge may cause minimal to moderate damage to communities, coastal and marine infrastructure, and disrupt marine-related activities.

The agency also advised residents in these areas to stay away from the coast and cancel all marine activities.

Meanwhile, Pagasa reported that Ramil had slowed while moving west-northwest over the waters off East Sorsogon.

The storm was located about 260 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up to 80 kph. It was advancing west-northwest at 15 kph.

Ramil is also forecast to make landfall or approach Catanduanes on Saturday afternoon or evening
