Police confiscated a total of P3 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and arrested five individuals in separate anti-drug operations in Taguig and Pasay cities, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported.
In Taguig, authorities seized about P1 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a woman in a buy-bust operation early Tuesday morning, according to an SPD statement.
Police identified the suspect as ‘Angel,’ a 22-year-old unemployed resident of Barangay Calzada-Tipas, who was caught along Ruhale Street.
‘Confiscated from the suspect were approximately 147.8 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,005,040, along with buy-bust money and other drug paraphernalia,’ the SPD said.
Angel is now under the custody of the Taguig City Police Station pending the filing of charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
P2-M shabu seized in Pasay
In Pasay City, suspected shabu valued at P2.04 million was confiscated and four individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation, the SPD also said on Tuesday.
A separate SPD statement said police caught ‘John Michael,’ 20; ‘Arvie,’ 33; ‘Al,’ 46; and ‘Alex,’ 58 along Tramo, Riverside in Barangay 156 on Monday afternoon.
‘The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu,’ the police added.
The SPD said John Michael and Al were caught allegedly in possession of 100 grams of shabu, while Arvie and Alex were caught allegedly in possession of 50 grams.
The four suspects were taken into the custody of the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit, awaiting charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
‘The seized drug evidence was subsequently turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for chemical analysis,’ the SPD added. /mcm
