The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) will not release the recordings of its previous hearings, according its chair Andres Reyes Jr.
Reyes said this is a joint press conference with Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla and ICI Commissioner Rogerlio ‘Babes’ Singson.
The forum took place after the officials inspected the newly completed detention facility at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas, Quezon City, designated for individuals who may be indicted for the anomalous flood control projects.
‘No, we’ll not,’ Reyes directly answered when asked if the recordings of the past hearings will be released to the public.
When asked why, the ICI chair said, ‘Well, we’re gathering evidence. We cannot show our evidence.’
‘We will be telegraphed by these people if we show them everything,’ he pointed out.
On Wednesday, Reyes said in the Senate that the ICI would livestream beginning next week its investigation into the anomalous flood control projects and other questionable government infrastructure.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Reyes released a statement, saying that the commission would need to study and draft the rules of procedure and parameters before it goes on live-streaming its hearings.
