Fifa lowered the flags at its headquarters in Zurich to half-mast to mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand.
The world football governing body informed the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) of its gesture of mourning and respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.
As a mark of tribute, Fifa lowered the national flag of Thailand and the flags of all continental confederations to half-mast at its headquarters in Zurich.
FAT earlier notified Fifa and its 211 member associations of the passing of HM Queen Sirikit on Oct 24.
Following this, Fifa expressed its condolences and solidarity with the people of Thailand by lowering the Thai national flag and the flags of all six continental confederations to half-mast.
The FAT, led by its president Nualphan Lamsam and its executive committee, has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Fifa and its president Gianni Infantino for this meaningful expression of sympathy and remembrance.
