Greece and Cyprus’ Defence Ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in the framework of recent international developments, during a meeting they had in Thessaloniki, Greece on Tuesday.
Defence Minister, Vasilis Palmas, met with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, in one of their regular meetings, as the latter noted in a post on X.
“We discussed defence cooperation and the latest international developments regarding security issues, among other things,” Dendias notes in his post.
“We also discussed the prospect of Greece-Cyprus cooperation or a joint plan that will be funded by European Union’s SAFE scheme, in various sectors, such as research and innovation,” he adds.
Cyprus’ Ministry of Defence also posted on X about the meeting between Palmas and Dendias, noting that the two Ministers discussed “the latest developments in the area, defence and security as well as aspects of the 3rd Cyprus-Greece Intergovernmental Summit, which will take place soon.”
