EXO will resume their group activities with a fan meeting in South Korea in December and an album; however, Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin won’t be participating in the fan meet.
The K-pop boy group’s fan meeting has been confirmed by their label, SM Entertainment, and is set to take place at the Inspire Arena on December 13 and 14. It was also hinted that a new song will be performed.
The fan meeting will only feature members Suho, Lay, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun. This is notably the first time Lay will be present in group activities in four years since EXO’s 2021 album ‘Don’t Fight the Feeling.’
At the same time, it’s unknown if Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin will be present in their upcoming eighth album, which is scheduled for a 2026 release. The announcement comes two years after Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin – who are currently part of INB100 Entertainment – went public with concerns about contract terms and transparency on profit distribution. Last September, the trio and SM failed to reach a settlement in their first court-led mediation.
EXO debuted as a 12-member unit in April 2012 with two units, EXO-K and EXO-M. Kris, Luhan, and Tao eventually left the group in 2014 and 2015. Meanwhile, Lay – while he’s still part of the group – focused on his solo activities in China for the time being.
The eighth album marks three years after their 2023 record, ‘Exist,’ which includes the title track ‘Cream Soda.’
Known for their vocal prowess, EXO is one of the biggest groups of K-pop’s Third Generation. Some of their hit songs include ‘The First Snow,’ ‘Growl,’ ‘Wolf,’ ‘Call Me Baby,’ and ‘Love Me Right,’ to name a few.
