The Manila South Cemetery recorded approximately 2,020 visitors by 11 a.m. Thursday, according to data released by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Visitors’ arrival began early, with initial figures showing around 20 people entering the cemetery by 6 a.m. The numbers subsequently rose to 100 by 7 a.m. and reached roughly 1,000 visitors by 10 a.m., the PNP said.
On Wednesday, the PNP reported about 2,300 visitors at the cemetery ahead of Undas.
The cemetery will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday. From Friday until November 2, it will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Manila South Cemetery Director John Mark Mendez issued a reminder regarding the cemetery’s regulations.
Visitors are barred from bringing in:
alcoholic beverages,
weapons,
sharp objects,
firearms,
loudspeakers,
musical instruments, and
engaging in any form of gambling.
