Assistant Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ACE I Effa Okim, on Thursday, assumed duties as the new Acting Zonal Director of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate.
He takes over from Commander of the EFCC, CE Anselem Ozioko, who has been redeployed to head the Ilorin Zonal Directorate. The development was made known on the Commission’s official X handle.
Okim, a Certified Fraud Examiner and seasoned anti-corruption investigator, has handled several high-profile cases and served in various strategic positions, including Team Lead, Advance Fee Fraud, Team Lead, Operational Studies at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Head, Improved Service Delivery (SERVICOM), and Head, Asset Forfeiture and Recovery Management.
He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and a member of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria, among other professional bodies.
Before his posting to Makurdi, Okim served as the Acting Zonal Director of the Benin Zonal Directorate.
In his maiden address to staff, Okim urged officers to uphold the EFCC’s values and maintain integrity in their duties. ‘We must make sacrifices and shun corruption in all our official dealings by upholding the core values of the Commission,’ he said.
