As the national voter registration resumes today, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is expecting the number of additional registrants to exceed 1.4 million by May 2026.
About 2.8 million Filipinos have registered to vote in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections from Aug. 1 to 10.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the total number of qualified voters might hit 100 million.
Qualified applicants should register as early as possible and not wait for the deadline, he said.
Filipinos who will turn 15 by May 18, 2026 can cast their vote in the youth council polls.
