The Coast Guard Station Occidental Mindoro has temporarily suspended vessel trips in six towns due to the threat of Typhoon Tino.
In its Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 7, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that Tino is affecting the southern portions of Occidental Mindoro, particularly the towns of San Jose, Rizal, Calintaan, Magsaysay, Sablayan, and Santa Cruz.
All vessels were advised to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant in monitoring the movement of the typhoon, especially if operating in affected areas.
The suspension of voyages will remain in effect until further notice and will only be lifted once weather and sea conditions improve, the Coast Guard said in its advisory.
It added that vessels seeking shelter will be permitted to do so upon proper request; however, no passengers or cargo will be allowed on board during the suspension period.
