Greece will represent the Republic of Cyprus in the issuance of Schengen visas in 19 third countries in view of Cyprus’ full accession into the Schengen area.
To this end, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries signed a Joint Declaration on Wednesday in Athens. The signing ceremony took place in the context of the 3rd Cyprus-Greece Intergovernmental Summit which took place in Athens.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries had a private meeting where they discussed bilateral relations and coordination issues in view of the meeting on the Cyprus issue under the auspices of the UN and the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Alexandra Papadopoulou, and Deputy Minister of European Affairs of Cyprus, Marilena Raouna.
