Thailand secured a 3-2 win over Singapore in a friendly football match at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani province on Thursday night.
The War Elephants started strong, with Sarach Yooyen opening the scoring in the 15th minute, but Singapore responded quickly with Glen Kweh levelling the score two minutes later.
In the second half, Thailand’s Theerathon Bunmathan scored in the 47th minute, adding to the team’s lead. Seksan Ratree’s strike in the 53rd minute sealed the victory for Thailand. Although Kweh scored his second in the 62nd minute, it was not enough to equalise.
Prior to the match, interim head coach Anthony Hudson said the game was more than a warm-up, aiming to build momentum for Asian Cup qualification. Despite limited preparation, he praised the players’ response during training and their determination to beat a strong Singapore side.
The game also marked the debut of 21-year-old Thai-English forward Jude Soonsup-Bell. Fans at the 25,000-capacity stadium cheered as Thailand prepares for an AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Nov 18, 2025.
