Angel Locsin asked for understanding from the public as she disclosed that her stepson Joaquin Arce is ‘completely deaf’ in one ear, which causes him to often talk loudly or to not immediately respond.
The veteran actress revealed this through her X page on Wednesday, Nov. 12, while expressing admiration for Joaquin for being a mediator among his fellow ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemates.
Locsin’s post shows photos from when Joaquin was in a conversation with Reich Alim and Iñigo Jose to discuss the two’s concerns about each other’s demeanor.
‘I don’t usually comment, but seeing Joaquin grow from a little boy into someone who helps, listens, and keeps the peace at home makes me proud,’ Locsin said in the caption.
‘If he ever talks a bit loud or doesn’t respond, please forgive him – our son is completely deaf in his right ear,’ she further noted.
Netizens then praised Locsin for speaking up about Joaquin’s condition, underscoring the actress’ dedication to support her stepson.

Joaquin is the son of Locsin’s husband Neil Arce from a previous relationship.
