The 38th edition of the Awit Awards is shaping up to be a star-studded affair that celebrates how far Original Pilipino Music (OPM) has come, as local artists from generations will gather under one roof.
Organized by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) and MQuest Ventures, the Johnny Manahan-helmed awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 16 at the Meralco Theater.
The ceremony will be hosted by ‘Vibe’ jocks Elijah Canlas, Dylan Menor, Joao Constancia, Maxie Andreison, Ana Ramsey, Ryle Santiago, Paulo Angeles, Kych Minemoto, and Queenay Mercado.
Nina, Krystal Brimner, Randy Santiago, and Vehnee Saturno were chosen to present awards at the ceremony.
The audience can also expect performances from BINI, Sheryn Regis, Carmela Lorzano, Lolita Carbon, Alyson, Lola Amour, Earl Agustin, Hey June!, BGYO, Dionela, Jayda, Amiel Sol, Over October, Rob Deniel, and BenandBen.
Decided by an established group of personalities, songwriters, composers, and industry professionals, the biggest awards of the night are Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Meanwhile, genre-centered awards such as best performance by a solo artist, best performance by a group, RandB, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Dance/Electronic, Traditional, Alternative, World Music, Pop, Ballad, and Instrumental will be given out at the event.
People’s Choice-based awards based on respective categories will also be awarded to the winning awards.
A telecast of the 38th Awit Awards will air on TV5 on the same day at 6:00 p.m.
