Team Philippines women’s team came up short on the second day of the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships at Newport Resorts Hotel on Friday night.
Unlike Day 1, when Karl Eldrew Yulo delivered a strong performance for the Philippines in the men’s division, the country’s competitors in the women’s side were unable to advance to the next phases of the global meet.
Elisabeth Seung Hae Antone posted the highest score for Team Philippines with 47.632 points across four events, finishing 37th in the all-around standings.
She also had the highest score among her fellow Filipinos in the vault competition with 12.533 points.
Antone ended up as the team’s top performer across all events despite missing the cut. She registered 11.366 points in the bars, 11.533 in the beam and 12.133 in the floor exercise.
Overall, Team Philippines ranked 24th in the team category with 88.988 points.
France won gold with 108.432 points while Japan snagged silver with 107.930 points. USA rounded out the podium with 106.230 points.
The country’s campaign continues with Yulo’s finals appearances scheduled from Saturday to Monday at the same venue.
