Nuba player of the match as She Cranes edge Scotland

Uganda’s netball team, the She Cranes, last night extended their unbeaten run to three games in a row, edging hosts Scotland 53-51 at the ongoing Netball Celtic Cup.

The Scottish Thistles were no easy match as they held the She Cranes to a tight contest in the first three quarters.

The final quarter was when the She Cranes extended their lead and finally won the contest by two goals.

With each team playing three fixtures in the round robin format tournament, Uganda leads the log with six points, followed by Scotland and Wales, who are tied on four points.

Northern Ireland and Zimbabwe are also tied on two points, while Namibia is yet to clinch a point.

She Cranes shooting ace Mary Nuba was named player of the match against Scotland, while shooter Shadiah Nassanga and centre player Maggie Bagala clinched the award in the Namibia and Northern Ireland fixtures, respectively.

The She Cranes will take on Zimbabwe this evening before facing Wales on Sunday for their final game of the tournament.
