All airlines were back to normal operations after a technical glitch in Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft disrupted several flights on Saturday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said.
Caap said normal operations resumed on Saturday evening.
The agency, when asked by INQUIRER, said there is no exact time on record for when operations returned to normal.
The glitch specifically disrupted 93 domestic flights, of which 82 were canceled and 11 were delayed.
At least 14,000 passengers were affected by the flight cancellations and delays.
Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez inspected the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 following the technical glitch.
Lopez said in Caap’s statement that airlines immediately informed affected passengers and provided free rebooking options, full refunds, and flight e-vouchers.
He also noted that affected passengers were given food by airline companies at the airport.
‘The President instructed us to ensure that passengers are safe and provided with necessities such as food and drinks while waiting for their flights,’ Lopez said.
‘We are grateful to the airlines because they worked together to assist the affected passengers,’ he added
