A thunderstorm is ‘more likely’ to develop over the Greater Metro Manila area within the next 12 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
In its 10 a.m. advisory, Pagasa warned that thunderstorms may occur in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite due to the effects of the shear line.
However, over the next three hours, only light to moderate rain with occasional heavy showers is expected in Metro Manila, Cavite, and Bulacan, as well as in Pampanga and Bataan, Pagasa said in a separate 11 a.m. bulletin.
Laguna and parts of Quezon (Plaridel, Unisan, Atimonan, Agdangan, Padre Burgos, Pagbilao, Mauban, Tayabas, Sampaloc, Lucban, Lucena, Real, Sariaya, Candelaria, Dolores) will experience light to moderate rain.
The shear line is also expected to bring heavy rainfall to the rest of Quezon Province, with the possibility of flooding in coastal and low-lying areas within the next three hours, Pagasa added.
