Overcast skies and rain will prevail over major parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Monday due to several weather systems, including the low pressure area (LPA) currently in the vicinity of Visayas.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last spotted in the vicinity of Balud, Masbate.
‘Inaasahan na ang Western Visayas at Mimaropa makakaranas ng mauulap na kalangitan, pagkidlat at pagkulog dahil sa epekto LPA,’ said Pagasa weather specialist Charmagne Varilla.
(Western Visayas and Mimaropa are expected to experience cloudy skies with lightning and thunder due to the effects of the LPA.)
Meanwhile, the shearline is expected to continue bringing rain and cloudy skies to Metro Manila, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Calabarzon and Bicol region-while the northeast monsoon will bring similar conditions to the rest of Luzon, particularly in its northern sections.
Relatively fairer weather, on the other hand, is expected in the rest of Visayas and Mindanao with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms.
