The Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (MSTPP) of BIFPCL (Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Ltd), a JV of BPDB and NTPC at Rampal has achieved a remarkable national milestone by generating 700 MkH of electricity in November 2025 – the highest monthly generation by any power plant in Bangladesh. This historic performance stands as a testament to MSTPP’s exceptional operational excellence and reliability.
throughout the month, MSTPP consistently supported the national grid by contributing nearly 11.5% of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand, thereby reinforcing its position as the country’s foremost power generator. MSTPP has been delivering over 600 MkH or about 8% of Bangladesh’s total electricity demand regularly, and the November achievement sets a new benchmark in the nation’s power sector.
