Ogun: Adeola, Hunye, Daniel pick APC nomination forms for guber, senatorial races

The consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, and Hon Abayomi Hunye have picked the governorship nomination and expression of interest forms of the party on Tuesday.

Adeola’s form was picked on his behalf by his media adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, at the National Headquarters of the APC in Abuja.

Hunye, a former General Manager of the Ogun State Waste Management Agency (OGWAMA), also picked the governorship nomination and expression of interest forms, despite the party’s position of nominating Adeola as the governorship consensus candidate in the 2027 elections.

The former governor’s aide is from Ipokia Local Government Area of the state and the same Ogun West Senatorial District as Adeola.

His move to pick the nomination and expression of interest forms shocked many residents of the state.

Similarly, Senator Gbenga Daniel equally picked nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for re-election into the National Assembly, representing Ogun East.

Daniel, in a post on his Facebook page, wrote that he picked the forms in his continued effort to provide effective and responsive representation for the people of the senatorial district.

He said, ‘Today, I picked up my nomination and expression of interest forms as I seek to return to the Nigerian Senate, continuing my efforts to provide effective and responsive representation for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.’

Also, Hon Rasheed Kashamu picked nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the House of Representatives seat of Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside in the forthcoming election.

This step signalled Kashamu’s firm commitment to the race.

Kashamu, in a post on one of his social media handles, described the moment as both humbling and significant.

He noted that obtaining the forms represents both a procedural step and a renewed pledge to serve the people with dedication, integrity and a clear development agenda.
