The member representing Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Soro announced his exit in a letter dated May 1, 2026, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ganjuwa Ward, Ganjuwa Local Government Area.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises titled the letter ‘Resignation of Membership.’
‘I wish to refer to the above subject matter to communicate my decision to resign my party membership effective April 30, 2026,’ he wrote.
He attributed his decision to the lingering internal crisis within the party.
‘My resignation is caused by the internal division and irreconcilable wranglings bedevilling the party over the last two years,’ he added.
Soro expressed appreciation to the PDP for the opportunity to serve.
‘I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to the party for giving me the rare privilege to represent my beloved constituency, Darazo/Ganjuwa, at the National Assembly,’ he said.
The lawmaker did not disclose his next political platform, despite previously indicating interest in contesting for the Bauchi Central Senatorial District seat.
