The Zamfara State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening local government leadership for inclusive development and social protection delivery.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Ahmad Garba Yandi, stated this during a stakeholder engagement organised by the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) in Abuja.
Yandi, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Yakubu Sanusi Yari, led Zamfara local government chairmen to the event held at the Transcorp Congress Hall.
The engagement brought together representatives of federal and state governments, local government officials, development partners and social protection agencies from across the country.
NASSCO, a federal agency under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is responsible for implementing social safety-net programmes for vulnerable groups.
The ministry said the state government remained committed to improving grassroots governance and strengthening collaboration for effective social protection delivery.
