International Distillers Ltd., (IDL) ceremonially reopened the newly renovated Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office, Kaduwela, on 6 May 2026, in a meaningful affirmation of the Company’s long-standing commitment to the community it calls home.
The event was graced by IDL Chairman Mohan Tissanayagam, Deputy Chairperson Indhu Selvaratnam, Chief Executive Officer Janek Jayasekara, Executive Director Dr. Kemal de Soysa, and the Company’s senior leadership team.
Medical Officer of Health, Kaduwela Dr. Chandana Pathberiya warmly welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude for IDL’s continued investment in the public health infrastructure of the area. IDL Chief Human Resources Officer Rohitha Amarapala, spoke of the Company’s enduring engagement with the Kaduwela community and its commitment to creating shared value for society, the environment, and the business in equal measure. Consultant Community Medicine Dr. Kushan Basnayake extended his heartfelt appreciation to IDL, commending the initiative as a commendable example of responsible corporate citizenship.
The project was spearheaded by IDL Group Chief Financial Officer Nanda Kumar Nair in close collaboration with Facility Manager Upul Priyantha, whose dedication and hands-on commitment brought the vision to fruition.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Enfamama Nutritional Supplement packages to all pregnant mothers attending the clinic on the day; a gesture that spoke more powerfully than words, IDL’s genuine care for those who matter most in the community. Deputy Chairperson Indhu Selvaratnam personally handed over the packages to the expectant mothers present, in a moment that drew warm appreciation from all in attendance.
This initiative is a reflection of IDL’s broader philosophy of giving back to the community.
