DOMINICA-TELECOMMUNICATION-Dominica and St. Lucia affected by Flow disruption

Flow Dominica Monday confirmed that technical teams across the region are working to restore connectivity following an island-wide disruption here on Sunday.

The disruption began at approximately 5:30 pm (local time) and has affected all commercial and business customers here as well as in St. Lucia.

Flow telecommunications in the Caribbean which is run by Liberty Caribbean, formerly known as C and W Communications, which is a subsidiary of the broader international telecommunications company Liberty Latin America, described the incident as a ‘crisis-level event’ and that its Regional Network Disaster Response and Recovery Center and local Crisis Management Team have been activated.

Marketing and Communication Executive at Flow Dominica, Francine Jn. Jacques said while there has been progress in restoring some communities, the company is urging customers to be to remain patient as it tries to resolving the issue.

‘We wish to advise customers that technical teams across the region continue to work around the clock to restore services following an outage which began last evening. The incident which has impacted services in St. Lucia and some services in Dominica remains under active investigation,’ she said.

‘Our response and recovery teams remain fully engaged with all available resources dedicated to restoring connectivity as quickly and safely as possible. We understand the inconvenience this disruption has caused and sincerely thank customers for their patience and understanding,’ she said.

The Flow executive said that further updates will be shared through the company’s official social media channels as well as local media outlets and it remains ‘committed towards connectivity as soon as it is possible’.

‘Flow acknowledges the gravity of this outage and the impact it has had on its valued customers. Our top priority is restoring connectivity, and we have mobilised all necessary regional resources to address the issue as swiftly as possible. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding during this challenging time,’ the company added.
