According to the data published by the CBC, of the loans worth pound 9,667 million belonging to households, pound 662 million are performing and pound 9,005 billion are non-performing. These loans concern a total of 55,044 households.

According to the CBC, for the loans with a contractual balance of pound 19,607 million, the net book value was pound 2,843 million as of March 31.

As noted by the CBC, the net book value is the value of a loan as recorded in the accounting books (balance sheet) of Credit Acquiring Companies (CACs), adjusted to reflect any revisions to estimates of future cash flows and impairments. On the other hand, the contractual balance represents the capital amount owed by the borrower under the loan agreement, irrespective of expected recoveries, provisions, or the purchase price of the portfolio, and includes accrued interest.
