Standard Capital has appointed Merenghage Lahiru Asela Fernando to its Board as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director.
Fernando is an accomplished finance professional with over 14 years of extensive experience in the accounting and finance sectors. Currently serving as the Finance Manager at Standard Industries Ltd., he oversees the financial operations of a prominent company engaged in manufacturing and distribution.
Fernando possesses a strong academic and professional foundation, holding a part qualification in Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and having achieved finalist status with the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and compliance and operational oversight. His deep understanding of the manufacturing and distribution industry, combined with his rigorous financial discipline, enables him to provide valuable insights into financial governance and risk management.
