Cebu-based Negrense boxer Carlo ‘Brown Sugar’ Bacaro seeks a bounce-back win as he trades blows with the veteran Thai brawler Channarong Injampa for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Silver welterweight crown in the main event of ‘Fist of Fury XII’ fight card today (Sunday, July 26) at the atrium of Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
The 26-year-old Bacaro hopes to get back on the right track after being stopped by Japan’s Ryota Toyoshima in the ninth round during their World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific super welterweight title bout at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall last April.
Bacaro holds a 14-2 record with 8KOs while Injampa carries a 21-25 slate with 15KOs.
In the supporting main event of the slam-bang show presented by Chao Sy International Promotions in partnership with the Hong Kong-based Verano Promotions and Ringside Cebu, the undefeated Hong Kong prospect Saagar Pradhan (8-0, 3KOs) will slug it out with Thailand’s Chan Sala (13-12, 8KOs) in a 10-round, non-title bout.
In the equally-exciting undercards, 2026 Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Jaervi Hernani will have his baptism of fire in the pro ranks against Norman Russiana, Junebirth Bantay will lock horns with Joseph Lanat, while Wengel Mendoza will take on Jed Malinao.
The rest of the matches pit Robert Jon Seares against Junriel Dominic Navares and Ken Danila versus Jeffrey Stella.
Before the pro action, several amateur fights have been lined up starting at 3 p.m.
