Team Falcons PH kept the Philippines’ championship hopes afloat in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup (MSC) after overcoming a challenging group stage run to qualify for the playoffs in Paris.
The MPL Philippines runner-up opened its campaign with a 2-0 sweep of China’s Guangzhou Gaming, putting itself one win away from a knockout stage berth.
Despite falling behind early in parts of the series, Falcons showed its composure to complete the sweep and advance to the upper bracket semifinals.
The team’s first shot at a playoff berth came against Indonesian champion Team Vitality, which features Filipino goldlaner Eman “EMANN” Sangco.
However, Team Falcons was unable to overcome the MPL Indonesia champion, absorbing a 2-0 defeat that dropped the Philippine squad to the lower bracket and left them one loss away from elimination.
With their tournament lives on the line, Team Falcons PH responded in emphatic fashion against sister squad Team Falcons, which had qualified to the main tournament after winning the Wildcard stage.
Led by standout performances from Salic “Hadji” Imam and Michael “Kyle” Sayson, the Filipino side completed another 2-0 sweep to secure a playoff berth and become the country’s last remaining representative after Team Liquid PH’s group stage exit.
Team Falcons will get a chance at redemption when it faces Team Vitality once again in the MSC 2026 quarterfinals on July 30 at 6 p.m. Manila time.
