The Igbo Community Association (ICA), Jalingo branch, has endorsed Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term, describing his administration as a turning point for peace, education and business.
The branch represents all Igbo residing across the 16 local government areas of the state.
In a letter of endorsement signed by the association’s President General, Deacon Michael Adili, the group said the governor had performed well in security and free education.
The letter read in part: ‘It will interest you to know that this decision did not only come from our mouth, but also from our hearts.
‘Your Excellency, before you took over leadership of this noble state, the entire state was under attack by gunmen and kidnappers. The Igbo in the state equally faced similar challenges -sleepless nights, trauma and losses running into millions of Naira, to mention but a few. Your Excellency, your coming is nothing but the coming of a saviour.’
The association noted that the restored peace had boosted business activities and peaceful coexistence among residents.
Responding, the Director-General of Dr. Agbu Kefas Re-election Campaign, Danladi Baido, described the endorsement as a welcome development.
He conveyed the governor’s goodwill message to the association and reassured them of the administration’s continuous support to all residents of Taraba State, irrespective of tribe or background.
