Firm unveils AI-powered booking platform

Safety Travels Ltd has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant travel booking platform to ease flight reservations and help travellers access fares and manage bookings directly. The company’s website, unveiled in Abuja on Monday, features an AI assistant that enables users to search for flights through voice or text prompts. The company said the AI assistant has been trained to understand English, Yoruba, Hausa, and other local and foreign languages.

Managing Director of Safety Travels Ltd, Joseph Agofure, said the platform was developed in response to demands in the travel industry and concerns over fraudulent websites impersonating legitimate travel agencies.

Agofure said the new platform allows customers to search for available flights, compare fares, manage existing bookings, and make payments directly. He added that the system provides customers with booking information and payment confirmations through their email addresses, and can be accessed through internet-enabled devices, including mobile phones and laptops.

Agofure said the system allows customers to view available fares themselves, rather than relying on information provided by an agent.

Chairman of Safety Travels Ltd, Chidi Nwogu, said the new platform was designed to meet global standards and take the company’s services to a higher level.

Nwogu, disclosing that the company has been in operation for more than 40 years, said trust and integrity are important to the firm given the sensitive nature of travel transactions and customer information.

He said the platform supports bookings originating from Nigeria in naira, while bookings originating outside Nigeria may be displayed in other currencies.

On international travel documents, the company said verification of passports and visas remains the responsibility of the relevant immigration authorities
