FG disowns fake report on CDCFIB recruitment exercise

The Federal Government has disowned a fake recruitment statement which purportedly provided updates on the recruitment by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani, urged Nigerians to disregard the fake news.

Dr Ajani said the fake report was falsely attributed to the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

‘The document, which claims that the ongoing CDCFIB recruitment exercise has been deferred until after the 2027 general election due to funding constraints did not originate from the Ministry of Interior, the Minister’s office, or the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB)’, Dr Ajani said.

She maintained that the press release is fake, unauthorised, and fraudulent, adding that the Minister did not sign or issue the statement.

Ajani said:’ No decision has been made to defer the recruitment exercise until after the 2027 general election. The exercise is ongoing.

‘ Members of the public and applicants are strongly advised to disregard this document in its entirety and to rely solely on information published through the Ministry’s and CDCFIB’s verified platforms, including the official recruitment portal: cdcfib.gov.ng’
