The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme was suspended on Friday due to the heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). In an advisory, the MMDA said that the suspension is effective starting 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
‘Planuhin ang biyahe, mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho, at manatiling nakatutok sa mahahalagang impormasyon kaugnay sa lagay ng panahon (Plan your travel, be careful in driving, and stay tuned on important weather updates),’ the agency advised.
Meanwhile, the Malacañang on Friday morning ordered government offices and schools in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, and Occidental Mindoro to shift to alternative arrangements on Friday due to the habagat. /mr
