Ogun West GCK offers moral renewal, spiritual awakening for Nigerians – Fasanmi

Joseph Fasanmi, the Deeper Life Bible Church State Overseer for Ogun West, says the forthcoming Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) will offer moral renewal and spiritual awakening for Nigerians.

‘This crusade is not merely a religious gathering; it is a movement of hope, moral renewal and spiritual awakening,’ Fasanmi said during a recent press conference, held at the Deeper Life Ogun West region headquarters, Ilo Awela, Toll Gate, Ota, Ogun State.

GCK is an interdenominational outdoor crusade convened by William Folorunso Kumuyi, the general superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in 2021.

In the last five years, the GCK has traveled across Africa, Europe, America, Asia and Oceania, and has become synonymous with hope restored, broken lives rebuilt, miraculous healings, transformed character and renewed faith in God.

For over five decades, the convener’s ministry has impacted millions of lives across continents with the timeless message of Christ’s saving and transforming power.

Themed, ‘Total Transformation through Christ,’ the August GCK is jointly hosted by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun West Chapter, and the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The August edition of the monthly crusade is scheduled to commence from Wednesday, August 26 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, by 5 p.m. every day, at the Anglican Church Grammar School, Abebi, Ota.

‘Transformation is God’s gift to humanity,’ Fasanmi said, adding that the collaboration of these leading Christian bodies reflects shared commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

According to him, GCK promotes unity within the Body of Christ, to serve their communities through a ministry of hope, healing and transformation.

He disclosed that several strategic programmes have also been arranged as part of the GCK outreach like the All Believers’ Conference, themed ‘Perfect Deliverance in a Shifting World, scheduled for August 27 and 28.

There will also be Impact Academy for the youth, themed ‘Transformed to Break Limits,’ which will be held at the crusade venue by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday August 29.

‘We believe that the future of every nation depends largely on the quality of values instilled in its youth,’ Fasanmi said.

There will also be a maternal and child health outreach on August 23; medical outreach on August 24 and 25, 2026, which will also include free surgical outreach.

A prison outreach is also planned for August 24 and 25, to bring humanitarian support and the message of hope to correctional facilities across Ogun State.

Accordingly, Fasanmi said that the initiatives reflect the compassionate ministry of Jesus Christ, who ministered not only to the spiritual needs of people but also to their physical, emotional and social well-being.

‘There are moments in the life of a people when heaven appears to knock at the door of a community,’ he said, adding that such moments deserve to be recognised, embraced and celebrated. ‘We believe this crusade is one of such moments for Ogun West.’

He said further that the current socioeconomic reality of the country where many are searching for answers that neither wealth nor technology alone can provide – the GCK offers rare opportunities.

‘Our nation, like many nations of the world, is passing through challenging times. Families desire stability. Young people seek purpose. Communities yearn for peace. Businesses look for renewed confidence.

‘The greatest transformation any society can experience is the transformation of its people,’ said Fasanmi, adding that when the heart changes, homes change. ‘When homes change, communities change. When communities change, nations change.’
