Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has secured a landslide victory in Ede North Local Government Area, his home council, in the ongoing Osun governorship election.
Final collation figures from the local government showed that Adeleke polled 35,427 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 10,283 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, received 307 votes in the local government.
The result gave the Accord Party a margin of 25,144 votes over the APC in Ede North, further strengthening Adeleke’s performance in his political stronghold.
Ede North is regarded as one of the governor’s key support bases and was closely watched as votes were counted across the state.
