Political stakeholders and advocacy groups from across the South East region converged on Awka, the Anambra State capital, for the maiden zonal town hall meeting organised by the pro-advocacy group, Relax, Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria.
The event, held at the International Convention Centre, drew delegates and representatives from all five South East states-Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, and Enugu-to review ongoing federal initiatives and discuss regional development priorities.
Leading the National Executive Council (EXCO) delegation, National Secretary Mr. Eleojo Obaje Audu expressed appreciation to the people of Anambra and the broader South East for their hosting and active participation.
Addressing the assembly, Chief Engr. JohnBosco Onunkwo, South East Zonal Coordinator for the organization, outlined several key socio-economic projects implemented under the current administration. He emphasized initiatives such as regional infrastructure developments, worker welfare adjustments, educational access programs like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and agricultural inputs tailored for regional farmers.
‘This gathering serves to take the message of progress and continuity directly to the grassroots,’ Onunkwo noted, highlighting the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) as a critical vehicle for expanding the zone’s industrial potential.
Also speaking on behalf of the group’s Director General, Dr. Mrs. Farida Deborah Ibrahim, National Director on Townhall and Special Duties, underscored the importance of regional stability, security improvements, Support for Education (NELFUND INITIATIVE), and federal partnerships to strengthen commercial hubs across the South East.
